What is a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is an official authorized by the state to serve as an impartial witness when signing important documents. The Notary verifies the identity of signers, ensuring they are signing willingly and are aware of the contents, and then applies an official seal.

Common documents that can be notarized include:

  • Power of Attorney
  • Affidavits
  • Real estate documents
  • Vehicle title transfers
  • Contracts
  • Parental consent forms
  • Applications or sworn documents

The Township does NOT notarize wills.

What you'll need to bring:

  • Valid ID
  • Document(s) you would like notarized

Please note that our Notary Public is not an attorney licensed to practice law, and cannot give legal advice regarding immigration or any other matter.

Notary Public services are also available at the Clerk's Office, which is located at 201 Washington Crossing-Pennington Rd.
