Hopewell Township, Mercer County, NJ – Ewing Township has been awarded $800,000 in grant funding from the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) to advance critical traffic and safety improvements at key regional intersections. The funding, awarded through NJDOT’s Local Transportation Projects Fund (LTPF), will support the Bull Run Road and Federal City Road Roundabout Installation Project, as well as the installation of a new traffic signal at Federal City Road and Federal Point Boulevard.
The project represents a long-planned effort to improve safety and traffic flow at a heavily traveled intersection shared by Ewing Township, Lawrence Township, and Hopewell Township. The proposed single-lane roundabout at Bull Run Road and Federal City Road is designed to reduce the risk of severe crashes, calm traffic, and enhance overall safety for motorists, pedestrians, and nearby neighborhoods. In addition, the new traffic signal at Federal City Road and Federal Point Boulevard will further improve traffic operations and intersection safety.
“The improvements planned for these intersections will benefit residents and commuters across Ewing, Lawrence, and Hopewell Townships, making travel safer and more efficient for everyone who relies on these roadways.”
Ewing Township expects the project to go out to bid later this year. Once completed, the improvements will mark a significant step forward in enhancing transportation safety and mobility in this shared regional corridor.
