COVID-19 Update:
The Health Department received an unprecedented 528 new cases last month and we are saddened to report the deaths of 2 residents during January. Mercer County remains in high COVID-transmission status and we urge residents to continue common sense precautions. If you don’t feel well, stay home.
A positive home test is a highly reliable indicator that you are contagious. Isolate for at least 5 days, but longer if your symptoms have not improved or if you continue testing positive at home. Conversely, a single negative home test should NOT be relied upon to rule out COVID-19. If you have symptoms, or known exposure to someone with COVID, and your home test is negative, seek a PCR test. Alternatively, use 2 or more rapid home tests over the course of several days, at least 24 hours apart.
