New Jerseyans displaced from their homes due to damage from Tropical Storm Ida are being encouraged to use the online housing locator, the New Jersey Housing Resource Center (NJHRC), to help quickly find transitional or long-term housing.

To ensure that displaced residents can find stable housing quickly, the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) is urging all property providers to list available rental housing by going to NJHRC.gov and clicking on “Add Housing.” The process of listing an available unit takes about 10 minutes, is completely free, and can be done online or by calling 1-877-428-8844. Although property listings in all New Jersey counties are welcome, please note that there is an urgent need for all available rental housing in the 11 major disaster areas, which includes Mercer County.

The NJHRC website is updated on a daily basis with transitional or long-term housing options. The site consolidates rental resources identified and provided by the New Jersey Apartment Association, New Jersey Association of Realtors, New Jersey Builders Association, landlords, private organizations, federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the public to help individuals and families find available rental units in their area.

Assist New Jersey residents impacted by Tropical Storm Ida by listing your properties for FREE.

  • Representatives in the toll-free, bilingual call center can help add, update and remove properties and conduct market comparisons
  • View statistics on how often listings have been found in a search and viewed by potential tenants
  • User-friendly tools help large property providers list multiple units quickly

Rented listings can remain in the system and be re-activated with the click of a mouse when available again.

For assistance listing your property, call toll-free: 1-877-428-8844 or visit www.NJHRC.gov
