Mercer County is getting ready to replace the bridge on Hopewell-Princeton Road (Carter Road), over Bedens Brook.  The structure is in poor condition, considered structurally deficient due to the deck and superstructure, and functionally obsolete.  

The work is expected to take approximately 270 calendar days.  To limit the impact on the public, the project will be done in stages. The plan includes a temporary bridge so that the road will remain open through most of the construction with signalized alternating traffic. There should only be two 3-day periods where the road will be completely closed to traffic.  A full detour will be posted during those periods.
