Penn East Pipeline

PennEast Pipeline Company LLC has been accepted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for Pre-Filing (Docket number of PF15-1-000). The Federal review process of this project has, therefore, been formally started. There are options through FERC by which one may make comment on the proposed pipeline and be kept updated by receiving copies of documents filed by PennEast and comments made by others. To do so one must register with FERC online.

There are other options available through the FERC process such as becoming an Intervener and the details of how to exercise such options are detailed on the FERC website.

The information on this webpage is information which either:

  • Has been produced by Hopewell Township
  • Is received through the FERC subscription process (only formal FERC comments with regard to the PennEast documents; not all public comment documents filed with FERC)
  • Is produced and transmitted to Hopewell Township by the PennEast Pipeline Company LLC

PennEast documents have been produced by the PennEast Pipeline Company LLC and reflect the opinions of the PennEast Pipeline Company LLC. Hopewell Township documents have been produced by Hopewell Township and reflect the opinions of the Hopewell Township Committee. Opinions provided by the PennEast Pipeline Company LLC should not be interpreted as being the opinions of the Hopewell Township Committee and vice versa.

There are other groups such as the Delaware River Keeper Network, the Sierra Club, the Sourland Conservancy, the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association, Hopewell Township Citizens Against the PennEast Pipeline, and other locally based resident groups which are engaged in reviewing this project.
