Governor Christie has declared a delayed opening of 11:00 AM for all state offices due to the impending winter storm.

Due to the impending winter storm Governor Christie has declared a State of Emergency.

**There are no travel restrictions associated with this declaration at this time.

The weather forecast remains consistent with earlier predictions.

There are areas of patchy fog throughout the state.

**There are no incidents to report in the Hopewell Valley area at this time.

According to the most current National Weather Service post, the Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM this evening until 7 PM Thursday evening (March 5th).

Periods of rain will continue through tonight.

**There have been no major incidents due to rain today. We will provide updates on any road closures due to flooding.

Rain will change to snow tonight and snow will continue into tomorrow. The change to snow will most likely be after 10 PM.

Snow accumulations could be in the range of 4-8 inches.

The Winter Weather Advisory has expired.

There are no road closures or power outages to report at this time.

The warmer temperatures have helped with icy conditions however, motorists should still be alert for slush and puddles along roadways.

Rain is predicted throughout the day. We will provide updates on any road closures due to flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to 1 AM Wednesday March 4th.

Snow and sleet are predicted to overspread the area during the afternoon hours. The snow and sleet will transition to freezing rain this evening before changing to rain for the overnight hours.  

Snow, sleet and freezing rain are possible. Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to be less than one inch. Ice accumulations may be around a tenth of an inch.

Untreated surfaces may become icy. Caution should be used while driving.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 20's this afternoon, rising into the mid 30's tonight.

Wilfred Avenue Construction Work

Wilfred Avenue is closed to through traffic while under construction but passable at all times to emergency services, school buses, garbage trucks, residents and USPS. 

 

Road Closure Announcement         Pennington Titusville Road     

The Mercer County Department of Transportation began work on Monday February 23, 2015 replacing the Pennington-Titusville Road Bridge which crosses over Jacobs Creek.

Pennington-Titusville Road between Scotch Road and Bear Tavern Road will be closed to traffic at the bridge during this construction period which is scheduled to last six months.

The eastbound detour route will be Bear Tavern Road S/B to Washington Crossing Pennington Road E/B to Scotch Road N/B.

The westbound detour will be Scotch Road S/B to Washington Crossing Pennington Road W/B to Bear Tavern Road N/B.

Motorists should plan alternate routes during this construction period.
