Police Department Police Administration The Hopewell Township Police Department Administration is comprised of the Chief of Police, two Lieutenants and the Chief’s Secretary. George C. Meyer became the fourth full time Chief of the department on March 1, 2006. He has more than 30 years experience with the Hopewell Township Police Department having begun his career in September of 1975. He is a graduate of the The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police West Point Leadership and Command Program, The Northwestern University, School of Police Staff and Command, The Northwestern University, Executive Management Program, The FBI National Academy 208th Session, and The Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. Chief Meyer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services / Administration of Justice, from Thomas Edison State College and a Master of Administrative Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a Certified Law Enforcement Executive by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. He is the recipient of numerous department and civic awards and commendations. Lieutenant Thomas Puskas is the department’s administrative officer overseeing the detective bureau. Lieutenant Lance Maloney is the department’s operations officer in charge of the patrol division.
