Department Administration
The Hopewell Township Police Department Administration is comprised of the Chief of Police, two Lieutenants and the Chief’s Secretary.
George C. Meyer became the fourth full time Chief of the department on March 1, 2006. He has more than 35 years experience with the Hopewell Township Police Department having begun his career in September of 1975.
He is a graduate of the The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police West Point Command and Leadership Program, The Northwestern University, School of Police Staff and Command, The Northwestern University, Executive Management Program, The FBI National Academy 208th Session, and The Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar.
Chief Meyer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services / Administration of Justice and a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security from Thomas Edison State College, as well as a Master of Administrative Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
He holds Advanced Certification as a Law Enforcement Executive from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
Lieutenant Thomas Puskas is the department’s administrative officer in charge of the detective bureau and records bureau.
He began his career with the Hopewell Township Police Department in January of 1987.
He is a graduate of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police West Point Command and Leadership Program, The FBI National Academy 231st session and the Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Program.
Lt. Puskas holds a degree from Thomas Edison State College in Public and Social Services and has a certificate of Supervisory Management from the New Jersey Department of Personnel.
Lieutenant Lance Maloney is the department’s operations officer, in charge of the patrol division.
He began his career with the Hopewell Township Police Department in January of 1994.
He is a graduate of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police West Point Command and Leadership Program, The FBI National Academy 241st Session and The Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar.
Lieutenant Maloney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Law and Justice, from Trenton State College.
