I strongly support legislation for genuine reform of the flawed New Jersey property tax system. The basis of real property tax reform should be reducing the cost of government, not moving taxes from one place to another. A better approach to funding schools and municipalities must be found. You should do everything in your power to advance legislation to correct the underlying causes of spiraling municipal and public school costs. Please support proposals to encourage municipal consolidation and shared services, reform public school funding and management, improve financial disclosure to the public, and move school and special district elections to November when voter turnout is highest. This is a time that calls for courageous action by the Legislature. Please stand up for those you represent.
