BULKY WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES
The Bulk Pickup program is now $25.00 cash or check for each pickup and the fee is non-refundable.
NO ELECTRONICS will be accepted in the bulk waste pick up. Residents’ may check the County website www.mcianj.org for the list of scheduled drop off dates or Township website hopewelltwp.org for drop off dates.
Residents may stop at the Public Works Building located at 203 Washington Crossing Pennington Road from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday to pay in person, or place a check in the mail and include your phone number, so you may be called to confirm that we have received your check.
All payments need to be received at least one week before the scheduled pick up. All bulk items (5 items and 4 bags/boxes not to exceed 40 lbs each) need to be placed out by 7:00 a.m. on the start of the week, as the driver will not return for items.

The amount of bulky waste allowed per month is 4 bags or boxes and ONLY 5 (specified) bulky items. The weight of the bags/boxes should not exceed 40 pounds each. Containers should be strong enough to support the weight. Wood fence is to be cut into 4ft. lengths (each length is an item) and all concrete must be removed. Building materials (plywood, sheetrock, etc.) is limited to what would fit into a 32-gallon container. Weight of container is not to exceed 40 pounds and lengths no longer than 5 feet.

All brush must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. start of your week and trucks will not return.

No phone call is required except along Rtes. 29 and 31, resident must call 609-737-0799 Ext. 650.
To allow for safe and efficient collection and to ensure that your brush is collected please follow these guidelines:
- Collection will be limited to brush and tree pruning.
- Limbs shall be no longer than 4 feet.
- Limbs and Brush must be placed in an orderly manner with all butts (6”dia. maximum) facing road.
- Maximum brush pile size – 4 feet wide x 4 feet high x 15 feet long. Disposal of brush in excess of this volume shall be the responsibility of the homeowner.
- Small twigs must be bagged.
- All wire, nails and metal shall be completely removed from the pile.
- Do not place brush in street, gutter or within 10 ft. of any storm drain inlet per Ordinance No. 05-1356. Yard waste may be placed up to the edge of pavement or to the inside edge of curb for streets with no sidewalks. Under no circumstances shall yard waste be placed on sidewalks or in a manner that obstructs safe street sight distances or driveway sight distances. Placement of yard waste must occur on the frontage of the tax lot from which the yard waste originated.
- Diseased material and firewood will NOT be collected.
- Tree stumps, trunks and limbs in excess of 6” diameter will NOT be collected.
- Brush in excess of above stated maximum brush pile size will NOT be collected. Disposal of material in excess of the maximum brush pile size shall be the responsibility of the homeowner within 10 calendar days of the Township having performed collection for that lot.
- Brush mixed with leaves will NOT be collected
For the purpose of collecting brush and landscaping debris the Township is divided in three Zones (See Zone Map ). All brush has to be out by 7:00 a.m. MONDAY of your Zone’s week. Brush will be collected in Zone 1 during the week containing the FIRST Monday in the month; Zone 2 during the week containing the SECOND Monday; Zone 3 during the week containing the THIRD Monday. Along Rtes. 29 and 31 where a police escort is needed, the brush pickup will be the last week of the month. Barring unforeseen emergencies, brush will be removed sometime during that week for your Zone.

LEAF COLLECTION SERVICES
Pickup months are: November, December & April
No phone call is required except for Routes 29 and 31. Along these routes please call 737-0799 Ext. 650 when your leaves are ready. Some areas may experience delays due to volume or weather.
