Hopewell Township’s sale units are located in the Brandon Farms and Pennington Point (ages 55 and over) developments. They consist of one, two and three bedroom condominiums and townhouses. This program is managed for the township by Princeton Community Housing, a non-profit organization. Available units are posted on the website: http://www.nj.gov/njhrc/. Further Information About Affordable Housing
The Affordable Housing Committee of Hopewell Township is pleased to provide the following information to help Township residents better understand the mandates of the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH). Plans have been made to fulfill the Township’s constitutional obligation, to provide affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income households, in conjunction with the Affordable Housing Committee, the Planning Board, and the Township Committee.

Who qualifies for Affordable Housing in Hopewell Township:
Affordable housing candidates for Hopewell Township must qualify within the limits set by the Council on Affordable Housing. These candidates are comprised of households earning 80, 50 and 30 percent of the median income level for our region. These residents must have proof of income. Residents with disabilities and seniors requiring assisted living services also qualify and housing specific to their needs counts towards the Townships Affordable Housing numbers. COAH mandates a certain percentage of housing developed under a Fair Share Plan provide for family rental units.

Typical examples of individuals or families in need of low or moderate housing are single mothers, health care support staff, young teachers, teacher’s aides, store clerks, administrative assistants, library assistants, retirees, and emergency services personnel including police, fire, and emergency medical technicians.
