The I-95 northbound ramp to Exit 4 has been reopened to traffic.

Hopewell Township Police units have confirmed that the I-95 northbound ramp to Exit 4 (for Route 31) has been blocked off by State DOT personnel due to a roadway obstruction. We don't have an estimated time of when the ramp will be reopened.

According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Storm Warning has expired.

Slippery conditions remain this morning.

Temperatures remain in the mid and upper 20's to around freezing this morning. Untreated roads, sidewalks and parking lots will likely remain icy through this morning.

Be alert for changing roadway conditions. Reduce speed and allow plenty of stopping distance between vehicles.

State, County and Local road crews continue to address area roadways.

Hopewell Valley Regional School District schools will be on a 90 minute delayed opening Monday March 2nd.

Freezing rain is expected to continue falling through 8 PM. An additional one tenth of an inch of ice could accumulate.

State, County and Local road crews are deployed.

The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM Monday morning.

Predictions indicate that snow will overspread the area late this morning into this afternoon. A transition to sleet and freezing rain should start occurring during the mid to late afternoon and continue into the evening. Precipitation will taper off overnight.

Temperatures will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's.

Motorists should expect slippery traveling conditions on untreated surfaces. Motorists should also expect travel delays.

Wilfred Avenue Construction Work

Wilfred Avenue is closed to through traffic while under construction but passable at all times to emergency services, school buses, garbage trucks, residents and USPS. 

 

Road Closure Announcement         Pennington Titusville Road     

The Mercer County Department of Transportation began work on Monday February 23, 2015 replacing the Pennington-Titusville Road Bridge which crosses over Jacobs Creek.

Pennington-Titusville Road between Scotch Road and Bear Tavern Road will be closed to traffic at the bridge during this construction period which is scheduled to last six months.

The eastbound detour route will be Bear Tavern Road S/B to Washington Crossing Pennington Road E/B to Scotch Road N/B.

The westbound detour will be Scotch Road S/B to Washington Crossing Pennington Road W/B to Bear Tavern Road N/B.

Motorists should plan alternate routes during this construction period.

The department of Administration provides:

  • Management of the Township organization

  • Support for the Township Committee and other boards, committees and commissions

  • Project management

  • Personnel and Risk Management

  • Public Relations and Public Information

The Township Administrator position is established by ordinance to carry out the above functions of the department, review, recommend and carry out the policies and programs authorized by the Committee. The Administrator is the chief administrative officer for the Township and is appointed by the Township Committee. All departments report to the Township Administrator.

Currently the Department of Administration is comprised of five staff members that are responsible for:
