Storm Update Tuesday, July 26, 2016  

There are current power outages in the western portion of the township served by JCP&L. The outages are expected to last for an extended period of time.

The Titusville firehouse located on Route 29 has been opened as a resource center for residents without power from 9:00 A.M. today until 9:00 P.M.

Residents can bring electronic devices to be charged as well as sit in the air conditioning.

Potable water is available, however, residents need to bring their own containers.

Residents can access the firehouse by traveling either Route 546 to Route 29 northbound or Church Road to Route 29 Southbound.

 

For residents in the eastern portion of the township, potable water will be available at the Hopewell Township Public Works building.

The Hopewell Township Municipal Building is also open as a resource center until 4:30 P.M. today. 

Residents can charge electronic devices as well as sit in the air conditioning.

Route 29 Closure July 25, 2016  11:00 PM

Route 29 between Route 546 and Lambertville will be closed for an indefinite amount of time due to downed trees and wires.

Motorists should avoid Route 29 in this area. It may be a good idea to plan an alternate route for your morning commute.

The detour is Route 546 to Route 579 to Route 518.

Please avoid using Church Road, Pleasant Valley Road and Valley Road until further notice to avoid unnecessary delays and traffic back-ups.

 

 

Dublin Road Bridge Replacement Project   July 11, 2016 

Dublin Road is undergoing a bridge replacement project. The bridge is located just north of Washington Crossing Pennington Road.

Dublin Road at the construction site will remain closed to all traffic on a 24/7 basis until the completion of the project.

Mercer County DOT anticipates that this work will take approximately ninety (90) working days to complete, weather permitting.

During construction, motorists will be directed to use Pennington-Titusville Road, Scotch Road and Washington Crossing-Pennington Road.

 

Milling and paving work scheduled for Bear Tavern Road

 On or about Monday, June 27, 2016, Mercer County D.O.T. will commence milling resurfacing work on Bear Tavern Road (CR 579) from Maddock Road to Church Road in Hopewell Township.

 Work will be performed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 Mercer County proposes to complete the milling and resurfacing of Bear Tavern Road as follows:

 Phase One: Half width construction from Maddock Road to Washington Crossing Road. Traffic would be maintained in the northbound direction. Southbound traffic would be detoured with motorists directed to use Washington Crossing Road to Jacobs Creek Road.

 Phase Two: Half width construction from Washington Crossing Road to Church Road. Again, traffic would be maintained in the northbound direction. Southbound traffic would be detoured with motorists directed to use Pennington-Harbourton Road, Scotch Road and Washington Crossing Road.

 Full, unrestricted access will be permitted during non-working hours.

 Mercer County anticipates this work will take approximately fifteen (15) working days, weather permitting.

 

Road Construction Notice

Beginning on or about Monday, May 2, 2016, Mercer County DOT will be rehabilitating the stone arch of the Wargo Road Bridge located approximately ½ mile north of Titusmill Road.

This will require a full closure of Wargo Road on a 24/7 basis.

The work is anticipated to last approximately 90 days.
